What is the 4th Great Ninja War?

In the Shinobi world, there are always several wars between villages and when these fights go to an extreme level then a Ninja war happens. The Ninja wars are similar to the world wars in real life and just like World Wars 1 and 2 in Naruto series there are 4 Great Ninja Wars.
The 1st Great Ninja War happened in the Hashirama period and 2nd Ninja war happened in the Tobirama period and the 3rd in Minato Period and the 4th Great Ninja War in the Naruto period. The Ninja wars are almost happening in almost every Generation, There weren’t any Ninja wars in the Kakashi period because of Hiruzen Sarutobi ( 3rd Hokage ) who maintained several peace treaties with other villages and maintained good relations with other villages.
The 1st,2nd, and 3rd Great Ninja wars are the most bloodshed Ninjawars because every village craved more power and the Tailed-Beasts for power so there is too much bloodshed. But we didn’t get to see the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Ninja Wars in the Naruto series the only Ninja war we got to see is the 4th Shinobi War which is in the Naruto period.
The previous Ninja wars 1st,2nd, and 3rd are only to showcase the power of a village or to steal jutsu, Tailed-Beast, and Dojutsu like Sharingan and Byakugan from other Shinobi villages and the fight is mostly between villages.
But the 4th Great Ninja war is different from other Shinobi wars this time the fight was not between villages like other great Ninja Wars instead in the 4th Shinobi War the battle is between all Shinobi Villages Vs Madara and Obito. And for the first time in the history of the Shinobi World.
All the Shinobi villages together fought Obito and Madara to stop the Infinite Tsukuyomi, by forming a Shinobi Alliance which consists of the Shinobi army from every village. So this 4th Shinobi War is not like other Ninja wars and also not to showcase power or to steal Ninjutsu techniques but instead to bring peace to the Shinobi world.
Will there be a 5th Great Ninja War?
There probably won’t be a 5th Great Ninja War because Naruto established complete peace in the shinobi world and because of it there is no chance for Ninja wars and there is no more powerful shinobi than Naruto and Sasuke in the Shinobi world. And the Next Generations of Naruto are focused mainly on the Otsutsuki clan members.
If at all there is a 5th Great Ninja War it probably be against the Otsutsuki clan members are other higher level begins like Otsutsuki God. If the 5th Great Ninja War happens it would be just like the 4th Great Ninja War but instead of Madara and Obito as enemies to the shinobi world, there would be highly powerful celestial beings from other planets.
When Does the 4th Great Ninja War Start?
The 4th Great Ninja war was announced by Obito in the 205th episode of Naruto Shippuden titled ” Declaration of War” and in the Naruto Manga Obito announced the 4th Shinobi War in the 467 chapter but the actual Ninja war started in episode 262 of the Naruto Anime titled ” War Begins ” and in the Naruto Manga, it started in the 516 chapter.
How long was the 4th Great Ninja War?

The 4th Great Ninja war is the longest Arc in the Naruto series it has a total of 212 episodes including fillers starting from the 262nd Episode and ending in the 474th Episode. But for a surprise to all the Fans the 4th Great Ninja war has only lasted for 2 days, in the Naruto series it started on the 8th of October and ended on the 10th of October which is also Naruto’s birthday.
The reason it looks like it happen for years and is also the longest Arc because we have shown every situation happened in the 4th Shinobi War separately whereas actually all the fights and deaths happened at the same time simultaneously like Obito vs Kakashi fight was parallel happening with Hokage entry to the Battlefield. So it felt for us like 4th Great Ninja war going on forever.
Who Died in the 4th Great Ninja War?

Countless shinobi have lost their lives in the 4th Great Ninja war and we never get to know exactly how many shinobi have died in the 4th Shinobi War. So it is hard to know the exact count of Shinobi who last their lives let’s make some rough calculations and get an approximate number of dead shinobi.
At the start of the 4th Shinobi War, the Shinobi Alliance has 80,000 Shinobi. Which was divided into 5 teams for different Shinobi Alliance heads and sent to various locations on the battlefield.
Shinobi Alliance Division
- Darui 1st Division
- Kitsuchi 2nd Division
- Kakashi 3rd Division
- Gaara 4th Division
- Mifune 5th Division
Now, let us look at the battles that happened in the 4th Shinobi War on the 1st day of the battle and calculate the death of shinobi accordingly
Major battles on the 1st day of the 4th Great Ninja war
- Kakashi Division vs Seven Swordsmen
- Kitsutchi division vs White Zetsu
- Darui Divison vs Reanimation Shinobi and White Zetsu
- Mifune division vs Reanimated Shinobi
On the 1st day of battle, approximately Shinobi Alliance lost half of their shinobi, which is about 40,000 shinobi on day 1 and on the 2nd Day major battles are
Major battles on the 2nd day of the 4th Great Ninja war
- Garra division vs Reanimated Kages
- Garra Division vs Madara Uchiha
Reanimated Kages may not have killed most of the shinobi but Madara alone with his Taijutsu killed at least a few 100’s of people and in the same fight he mostly wiped out the full Gaara Divison with Tengai Shinsei which wiped out at least 15000 shinobi. So even before entering into the main battle approximately 55,000 shinobi were dead and after the Shinobi Alliance vs Ten-Tails fight and Ten tails absorbed the life force of several shinobi. All Ten-Tail killings can be counted as more or less 10,000 shinobi.

So we are left out with 15,000 Shinobi alive at the End of the 4th Great Ninja War and it is a very low and rough estimate because we didn’t add any white Zetsu kills or Reanimated shinobi kills. Moreover, the shinobi alliance also has Samurai and we even included them, If we took out Samurai and also include Reanimated Shinobi and white Zetsu kills then maybe 6000-9000 shinobi would have been alive at the end of the 4th Great Ninja War who are after trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
What Episode Does Naruto Join in the 4th Great Ninja War?

Naruto joined the 4th Great Ninja War after acquiring most of the Kurama Chakra. But even just to enter the battlefield, Naruto has to go through so many hardships and have to convince many shinobi and Kages. But finally, after all the struggles he finally entered the Battlefield in the 296th episode Titled ” Naruto Enters the Battle”.
Even though he is the key shinobi for the victory of the Shinobi alliance he was made to go through so many hardships to enter the 4th Great Ninja War and all the shinobi in the Shinobi Alliance were suffering to differentiate between real Shinobi and white Zetsu, the only shinobi who is capable of finding the difference between them is Naruto but even though he was made to go through a lot of stuff.
When Does Sasuke Join in the 4th Great Ninja War?

After knowing the truth about Itachi and the meaning of Shinobi villages and all the dark truths about the Shinobi World. Sasuke joins with other Reanimated Hokages to enter the battlefield but he is not as fast as Minato or Tobirama so he took his time to enter the battle. Shortly after the previous Hokage’s entered the battlefield in the 372 Episode. Sasuke enters the battle in the 373 Episode Tited as ” Team 7 Assemble ” and right after stepping into the battlefield Sasuke made everyone freak out by announcing he gonna be a Hokage which made everyone go insane.
What Episode Does Minato Join in the 4th Great Ninja War?

Minato joins the battlefield with the other Reanimated Hokages in the 372 Episode Titled “Something to Fill the Hole ” He gives a grand entry by using his Flying Raijin and also saving everyone in the Shinobi alliance by transporting the Tailed Beast bomb.
Even if Minato was delayed for a few seconds then the whole 4th Great Ninja war would be ended in the 372 episode itself because we all know no matter how hard the Shinobi Alliance fight they stand no chance against the Tailed Beast Bomb and Naruto was also severely injured and out of Chakra. So if Minato didn’t show up the Shinobi Alliance would have been doomed.
Who killed Madara in the 4th Great Ninja War?

Actually, this is one of the major misconceptions about the Madara’s death that he got killed in the 4th Great Ninja War. But Madara never got defeated nor Killed by any shinobi he was betrayed and stabbed by the Black Zetsu and Madara was turned into Kaguya Otsutsuki. Let’s get a little deep into the story so we grasp everything we can.
Madara became invincible after absorbing the God Tree and most of the Chakra in the Shinobi World but because of the betrayal of Black Zetsu Madara turns into the Kaguya Otsutsuki. What happens is Black Zetsu stabs Madara from behind and injects his own chakra into Madara and controls him to absorb every shinobi chakra trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
This led to the combination of Black Zetsu Chakra ( Kaguya Chakra ) with every shinobi chakra, Which made the revival of the Kaguya possible. And this all worked out because the Chakra in the Shinobi world is nothing but the Kaguya Chakra which is given to Hagoromo and he distributed to others and the chain went on and on making the shinobi world.

Before the complete sealing of Kaguya ( Ten-Tails ), Madara was spit out from the Kaguya body. As we all know if a shinobi completely uses his Chakra then he is surely dead which is exactly what happened with Madara. Kaguya absorbed every ounce of Chakra and life force in Madara and threw him out of her body.
Which made Madara’s body completely out of Chakra and life force which eventually led to his death. So that’s it he died because of draining his chakra or if we look from another perspective we can say that Kaguya killed him because he drained Madara Chakra.
